We do not sell the much thinner Kona Blend (which may be as little as ten percent real Kona coffee)

Pure Kona Coffee is rare.  It is grown on the large island of Kona on a stretch of land known as the Kona Coffee Belt that is only 1 mile wide by 30 miles long.  According to Hawaiian regulations, only coffee grown in this very small area can be called 100% Kona coffee.

Beware of imitations and blends!

This particular area of Hawaii produces one of the best coffees available in the world today as it is grown in perfect conditions – rich volcanic soil, misted by gentle warm showers and nurtured by bright morning sunshine.  Only a very small percentage of Hawaiian coffees are 100% Kona. Many that have Kona on their labels in fact only contain 10% Kona Coffee and 90% of other blends, often from other countries.

The highest grade of Kona is the Kona Extra Fancy, which are the largest beans, grown high in the mountains and the cherries are picked at the peak of their ripeness.  Beans are wet-pulped, air and mechanical dried, dry-mill processed then air-flow gravity-table graded and sized to rigid international coffee trade standards.

With a medium to high acidity, low body, aromatic with delicate and clean flavour, this is indisputably one of the finest coffees in the world.
