The Coffee Cube is fortunate to have sourced this selectively harvested single-estate coffee which was one of the winning lots at the “Taste of the Harvest” event held by the Commercial Section of the Embassy of Brazil in late 2014.
Brazil produces some of the finest coffees in the world and Fazenda Santa Barbara is a small, 15 hectare farm sitting at around 1350 metres above sea level near the town of Piatã in the dramatic Chapada Diamantina region producing outstanding coffees, including a cup of excellent winner in 2009. The farm is located in an area with land that has all of the characteristics for quality coffee – good soil, elevation, cool climate. Fazenda Santa Barbara is run by Eulino José de Novais, committed to producing outstanding coffees since the early 1980s.
This is a “yellow bourbon” coffee, low acidity (as with most Brazilian coffees), medium bodied, delivering a creamy and winery taste with toasted pecan, cocoa and dark chocolate tones.
