This wonderful Supremo comes from Hacienda Curazao in Chinchina, Caldas region. The Hacienda comprises a series of farmlots on the slopes surrounding the house, ranging in altitude from 1400-1500m. The coffee making up this Premium Supremo comes from the lot directly behind the house sloping up to the ridgeline which borders the property. The Hacienda is owned and operated by the Jaramillo family, and has been in the same family for over 100 years.
As the highest grade of Colombian Supremo, you would expect this to be a really nice coffee, and it certainly is. A washed, cathurra varietal coffee, with a limited supply in 2014, it has body, depth, caramel, fruit, sweetness, intensity and complexity. It works as a filter and it really drives an espresso.
If you are looking for the best Colombian Supremo, this is it.
