Indonesian Kopi Luwak is one of the most exclusive coffees in the world.
Collected from the droppings of a wild cat-like animal called the luwak (the common palm civet), a forest animal that freely prowls nearby coffee plantations at night in the harvest season, eating the choicest ripe coffee cherries. It can’t digest the coffee beans of the cherry, so it finishes its journey through the digestive system, are collected farm workers, cleaned and washed, and roasted just like any other bean.
Authentic wild Kopi Luwak is very difficult to find. We are proud to have sourced genuine wild Kopi Luwak from one of only twenty five members of the “Gayo Coffee Protection Society” collecting wild Kopi Luwak from the Aceh Tengah dan Bener Meriah area of Aceh, Sumatra.
Scoring a perfect 10 for uniformity, cleaness and sweetness (see cupping report), this coffee is rich, earthy, with a heavy hint of caramel and chocolate and very smooth.
An exotic coffee like no other.
