Yemen Mocha Ismaili

$780.00 $695.00

Perhaps the most genuine of Yemen Mocha coffees, this has a remarkable chocolatey taste for which the Ismaili is world-renowned.  This coffee is still grown as it was over five hundred years ago, at a height of 1,900 – 2,000 metres, on terraces clinging to the sides of semiarid mountains below ancient stone villages that rise like geometric extensions of the mountains themselves, in some of the harshest and remote areas of Yemen.

All Yemeni coffees have a wild, untamed flavour that may seem a bit rustic at first if you are used to sweet, balanced Latin American coffees.  This, however, is a coffee with bright and complex acidity, with a flavour alive with wine.

This is a full bodied and fragrant coffees, one of the world’s finest.

Perhaps the most genuine of Yemen Mocha coffees, it has a remarkable chocolatey taste for which the Ismaili is world-renowned.

Almost all Yemen coffee comes from ancient varieties of coffea arabica grown nowhere else in the world except perhaps in eastern Ethiopia.  They have been processed as they have been for centuries. All Yemen Mochas are dry or natural coffees, dried with the fruit still attached to the beans. After the fruit and bean have dried, the shriveled fruit husk is removed by millstone, which accounts for the rough, irregular look of Yemen beans.

All Yemeni coffees have a wild, untamed flavour that may seem a bit rustic at first if you are used to sweet, balanced Latin American coffees.  This, however, is a coffee with bright and complex acidity, with a flavour alive with wine.
